Georgia quarterback commit Ryan Montgomery is out on the West Coast this week as one of the many QBs participating in this year’s Elite 11 Finals event. Montgomery held his own on the opening night of drills, and one of 247Sports’ experts believes he is in a great spot going into Day 2.
247Sports director of scouting Andrew Ivins named Montgomery as one of the quarterbacks who could assert himself among the top QBs following the first day of drills. Ivins compared the field of quarterbacks to the Tour de France and pointed to Ohio State commit Tavien St. Clair, Texas A&M commit Husan Longstreet, and Alabama commit Keelon Russell as the quarterbacks who have pulled away from the pack.
In Ivins’ opinion, Montgomery is leading the group behind those players and has the ability to close the gap.
