Good news for Middlesbrough

After joining Boro in the January transfer window of 2023, the 27-year-old has made 45 appearances in the Championship for the team, including 33 in the previous season when Michael Carrick’s team was eliminated from the play-offs.

Although Carrick’s goal for this window is to strengthen the team, it looks like he may have to fight to hold onto Barlaser given the interest shown in the former Rotherham player.

That came after Trabzonspor, who is attempting to transfer Barlaser to Turkey, disclosed to the Turkish media outlet 61 Saat that they had made a proposal for the player.

Although the exact amount that Boro has offered for Barlaser is unknown, the update does indicate that talks have taken place between the Super Lig team and the midfield player’s representation.

The Rangers combination of Borna Barisic and John Lundstram are anticipated to join Trabzonspor when their respective contracts at Ibrox end later this month, they add, indicating that it will be a busy window for the club.

Barlaser was reportedly signed by Boro for about £1.5 million about eighteen months ago, so before considering selling on a player who is still a crucial member of the team, they would undoubtedly want to turn a profit.
