In the semifinals on Saturday night at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the second-seeded Iowa women’s basketball team defeated Michigan 95-68 to go to the Big Ten Tournament championship.

Leading the Hawkeyes with 28 points and 15 assists was Caitlin Clark. With 16 and 13 points, respectively, guard Kate Martin and forward Hannah Stuelke were Iowa’s next leading scorers.

Clark’s layup was Iowa’s first goal. Clark took Phelia away during Michigan’s next possession, dribbled the ball down the court, and found Affolter beneath the hoop for two points. The first three minutes of the game were back-and-forth, but it wasn’t until the Wolverines launched on a perfect 6-6 run, three of which came from guard Lauren Hansen, that Michigan took the lead.

Before Stuelke broke the Michigan lead, the Wolverines were up 10-0. Guard Gabbie Marshall, a fifth-year senior, was found by Clark in the corner with 12 seconds left in the quarter, and she made the three-pointer before the shot clock ran out.
