Huge Setback: Fans Stunned As Rayon Griffith Guyana Amazon Warriors Head Announce Resignation and Departure

Rayon Griffith has been named the new head coach of the Guyana Amazon Warriors for the 2022 Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

In addition, Griffith was the Warriors’ head coach in 2021. Prior to that, he was an assistant coach from 2018 to 2020.

The 43-year-old is the West Indies Senior Men’s team’s fielding coach at the moment.

In addition, Griffith played a significant role in Guyana’s five consecutive first-class circuit championship wins, the most recent of which came in 2019.

Between 1999 and 2005, he participated in 22 First-class matches and an equal number of List A matches, taking 78 wickets overall.

“I am incredibly honored to be back with the Guyana Amazon Warriors, but as head coach this time around. Griffith exclaimed, “I am ecstatic that the franchise has chosen to cast me in this position.

“I have a particular place in my heart for this franchise, and I have had an amazing experience working with them. This season will undoubtedly be amazing, I’m sure of it.

To strengthen their spin attack, the Warriors selected players like Imran Tahir and Tabraiz Shamsi in the CPL 2022 Drafts. Paul Stirling, Heinrich Klaasen, and Colin Ingram are the team’s new batsmen, while Ingram has more experience.

The four players that the Warriors kept were Chandrapaul Hemraj, Odean Smith, Romario Shepherd, and Shimron Hetmyer.

The tournament’s tenth iteration will take place from August 31 to September 30, 2019. The St Kitts and Nevis Patriots are the reigning champions, having won their first championship in 2021.
