Done Deal; Rayon Griffith completes multimillion deal with 25 years old super striker

Guyana Amazon Warriors will take on Trinbago Knight Riders in the first match of the CPL 2021 on Thursday. Both teams faired well last season, having finished in the top-four. Trinbago Knight Riders went onto win the title, while Guyana Amazon Warriors lost in the second semi-final.

Trinbago Knight Rider have 4 titles to their name and ahead of a new season, they would be eager to make it five. They have a well-rounded squad at their disposal. The batting department consists of the likes of Lendl Simmons, Colin Munro, Darren Bravo, and Darren Sammy.

The presence of Kieron Pollard and Sunil Narine will add depth to the batting. Simmons was the highest run-getter for Knight Riders last season. He will be a vital cog for the team, once again. Dwayne Bravo has switched to a new team and his absence could affect Knight Riders’ combination.

Jayden Seales will be the guy to watch out for in the seam-bowling department. They have some solid options in the spin department as well, namely Narine, Yasir Shah, and Akeal Hosein.

On the other hand, Guyana Amazon Warriors would be aiming to win their first title in the tournament. Nicholas Pooran will be the leader in chief. He had a great outing last year with the bat. He along with Shimron Hetmyer would be the two biggest bets for them in the batting department. Besides, Pakistan’s Shoaib Malik and M Hafeez will add depth to their batting.

As far as the bowling is concerned, Imran Tahir and Naveen Ul-Haq will hold key to the team’s fortune. As compared to the other teams, the Warriors’ bowling looks lean given the lack of prominent names in the squad.

Rice was shown a second yellow card during Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Brighton after kicking the ball away as Joel Veltman lined up a free kick. The decision, which is correct in relation to the laws of the game, has prompted outrage from Arsenal-leaning pundits and fans.

Ian Wright soon after described referee Chris Kavanagh as having “main-character energy” and, like many, pointed to Joao Pedro kicking the ball away earlier in the game without facing punishment.

Wright told Premier League Productions: “You look at Veltman and what he is doing there. Veltman is trying to get him booked. Veltman has nobody to pass the ball to. He knows exactly what he is doing. Those are the things VAR can look at. He knows what he is doing. He is trying to get him sent off.
