Breaking News: A/C D/C is now on fire after coming back to the…..

A C/DCfans only now learning what band’s name stands for after 51 years

They’re globally renowned, yet astonishingly some fans have only just clocked on to the true meaning behind AC/DC’s name even after 51 years in the limelight.

The Aussie rock legends, founded by siblings Malcolm Young and Angus Young, boast a stellar line-up with lead guitarist Angus, bassist Cliff Williams, drummer Phil Rudd, vocalist Brian Johnson, and rhythm guitarist Stevie Young, who is also the nephew of Angus and Malcolm.

With a history dating back to 1974, AC/DC has scooped up 17 awards and secured another 50 nods across prestigious gigs like the Grammy Awards, ARIA Music Awards, iHeartRadio Music Awards, and MTV Video Music Awards (VMA). Yet oddly enough, there seems to be a bit of a muddle among their fanbase when pinning down their musical genre some argue its hard rock, others claim heavy metal or blues rock.

The band’s hit parade with bangers like You Shook Me All Night Long, Back in Black, Thunderstruck, Highway to Hell, It’s a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock ‘n’ Roll), and Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap obviously keeps the crowds hooked.

But it turns out, one dedicated follower had a lightbulb moment whilst jamming to AC/DC prompting them to seek wisdom from Reddit with the question: “What does AC/DC actually stand for?:

While some reckon AC/DC is short for ‘Anti-Christ/Devil’s Child’, the real tale of its name is far less sinister. The rock band got its moniker when Malcolm and Angus were hunting for a catchy name, and their sister Margaret saw the letters AC/DC on her sewing machine’s power adapter.

It stands for alternating current/direct current electricity, which the siblings thought was a perfect match for their band’s electrifying performances..
