- Braves News: Jorge Soler traded, Charlie Morton’s future, and more
Alex Anthopoulos didn’t waste any time in making changes when the offseason officially began on Thursday. The Atlanta Braves declared that they had acquired right-hander Griffin Canning from the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for OF/DH Jorge Soler.
After a stay with the San Francisco Giants, Soler returned to the Braves in late July. With a.243 average and nine home runs, he played in 49 Braves games. Regarding Canning, he will suit up for the Braves as his second team. He pitched in 32 games with the Halos in 2024 and recorded a 5.19 ERA. In Atlanta, he will probably be a good bullpen addition.
In way-too-early predictions, the Braves are the third favorite to win the 2025 World Series, behind the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees.
